Hello! My name is Cherry Amor, but everyone refers to me as Cherry. I was born in Tamuning, GU and raised in Anchorage, AK. I am Filipino-American, but both my parents are full Filipino. My parents moved our family to the states in 2000 after my youngest brother was born. I am the ninth of ten children. I am fluent in Tagalog (Filipino) and English. My hobbies are dancing and singing but in high school I also played sports such as – gymnastics, soccer, and karate.
After high school I attended my local university, University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) for a year and a half. While at UAA, I worked at University One-Stop; UAA’s admissions, financial aid, veterans, and student counseling departments. From UAA I moved to Cheney, WA to pursue my bachelor’s in psychology at Eastern Washington University (EWU). Sometime later, I realized that although I liked psychology – I did not want it for a career. Realizing this, I took a break from school to work full time at EWU for three years as a program assistant in the Early Head Start program. I would then go on to transfer to Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) for a short time. Now I am enrolled at Capella University (CU) where I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s in Finance with a focus in Management and Leadership with a minor in Psychology and Accounting.
I truly believe in what our company stands for: helping families through a crucial time of their student’s life. I am passionate each day I come to work because a similar program helped me through the many adversities I faced during college. With my experience working in higher education I am prepared to help our clients navigate enrollment and financial aid. The process can be overwhelming but it’s our mission to help our clients get through as smoothly as possible. Speaking for the team here at College Funding Systems: Grossman & Associates, we are excited to partner with you!
