Kathy Steblaj

Hi, my name is Kathy. I  was a history teacher and counselor at University High School for thirty-three years. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at Washington State University and worked on a Master’s Degree in History at California State University in Northridge. I taught in Los Angeles for nine years before moving to Spokane. In 1989, I earned a second Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Whitworth University. At University High School, I taught various history classes including Advanced Placement European History.

As a counselor at University High School, I was the Running Start Coordinator and gained expertise in college preparation, selection, application procedures, and scholarships. I pride myself on being a “student-centered” counselor and find helping students very rewarding.
