Hello, my name is Stephen McLinden, I joined College Funding Systems (CFS) in the spring of 2019. I was born in Spokane, Washington; attended Mead High School, Spokane Falls Community College, and Kinman Business University. After college I moved to the Seattle area to start a new career and lived in the Puget Sound area for 25 years. I returned to Spokane to be closer to family; my mother and three sisters have lived in Spokane for decades. I love the Inland Empire and the outdoor lifestyle that Spokane is famous for. Of the many activities I enjoy, fishing, camping, hiking, as well as going to the lake are just a few.
I have been a financial professional for 15 years and have 30 years of business experience. Initially, I was impressed with both Stuart Grossman and Chris Gray and wanted to be a part of the CFS mission: helping families with college preparation. As with every plan it’s important to know where to start. Regarding college, choosing the right college and how to pay for that school are the very first steps! More than ever, families need a competent advocate to make sure that they are setting themselves up to deal with the financial burdens of pursuing a higher education. (Families can expect to spend around $100,000 for a four-year degree at a state university and maybe even $300,000 for a school like Stanford!)
Personally, I know how daunting the entire process can be! My son Kyle was entering his senior year of high school when I started with CFS; my experience was as a client first and then an advisor. CFS is the logical choice when beginning the complicated and expensive process of going to college today. From starting the conversation of higher education with your child, to SAT preparations, counseling, and helping with the financial forms myself and our team of experts are here to help you in any way we can. I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you in the future.
